This is Joseph and I after liturgy this morning at St. Nicholas’. Such a good time this weekend. I’m still exhausted but a good exhausted, haha.
Joe wanted us holding the icons of Saint Nicholas (patron saint of their parish) that Ionna and him got as gifts earlier (Thanks Ionna for letting me use it, ya jerk). Oh and I had to keep all the palm leaves since it was Palm Sunday.
I seriously love this guy so much. He knows I suck at social things but deals with my stupidity anyways. Haha. Love this dear brother of mine.

Last time Sir Dixon and I got to see each other we were both die-hard Calvinists, who would have known that just a year later, the next time we saw each other we would be Orthodox Christians? I love you brother, and you will be in my prayers this next few days leading up to your Chrismation!

TogetherForPeace: The Wrong Side of History Tactic

togetherforpeace:

Have you ever thought to yourself,

What if the decision I make now ends up being wrong in 40 years?

I’m sure many of us at some point have entertained lines of questioning similar to this.

Today’s rhetorical tactic involves a play off of this experience.

It usually begins with a flash…

Everything that lives and breathes is sacred and beautiful in the eyes of God.

His All Holiness Bartholomew I, Archbishop of Constantinople New Rome and Ecumenical Patriarch (via abideinhislove)

(Source: jamesfromta)

Evil is corrected by good;
faults by love, kindness, meekness, humility and patience.

Acknowledge yourself as the greatest of sinners.
Of those who appear to you to be sinners,
or are sinners in fact, consider yourself worse and lower than all.
Be rid of all pride and malice against your neighbor,
all impatience and bad-temper, and only then -
with love and long-suffering towards them - try to cure others.
Until then, cover the sins of others with your indulgent love.

St. John of Kronstadt (via forgivemeasinner)

Whoever wishes to see God must try to purify his heart by constantly thinking of God.

Saint John Saba (via theorthodoxbrit)

Just as it is impossible to be at the same moment both a plant and a seed, so it is impossible for us to be surrounded by worldly honour and at the same time to bear heavenly fruit.
